Crimes of the Future – Production and Plot
The exact plot for the movie is under construction. However, the motif Cronenberg wants to deliver through it is clear and ambitious. The film will explore a not-so-distant world where people are still trying to cope-up with their synthetic surroundings. The evolution will make the humans go through a process- from their natural state and into a metamorphosis. Everything about their originality will change biologically. In the movie, one of the cast is playing Saul Tenser, who will embrace the change happening in the world. New organs are developing in his body, and with his partner, Caprice, he has turned the removal of these organs into a show for his followers to witness at theatres. His films open a different path to look at ourselves physically and study more about the psychological horrors that can happen. As for production, the shooting will take place in Greece, Athens. It is also announced that Cronenberg will wrap up the project within 30 days. It will begin from August 2 to September 10, and the shots will be filmed at the Iris cinema, Arcade of Anatolia, and harbor of Piraeus. Meanwhile, you can watch Cronenberg’s Eastern promises here.
